Topic NYC networking events, anybody?

Anybody know of any events in NYC where internet/new media freelancers can network (besides "Cocktails with Courtney")?

I wouldn't call the "cocktails" a freelance networking event. I think it's more of a
hangout for business development types.
Definitely subscribe to the WWWAC list (although I haven't heard much about their used-to-be-regular parties since 1997). NYNMA (nynma.org) also organizes some events once in a while. Again, they are more "new media" than "freelance", but fairly close.

Yes, definitely with NYNMA. They have cybersuds, supposedly every month. They also sponsor SIGs (special Interest Groups), as does the WWWAC group.
Bits, Bytes and Bar (Downtown Alliance for NY), happens once a month and is one of the better networking events out there.
As for Cocktails with Courtney - does she still do that?
See if any of your friends receive Bernardo's list. While it has gotten so big that many people have stopped posting events to it (space is for 50 people, 1,000 show up), it is still a good resource as far as what is going on in New York City.
If you are a female, there is also WebGrrls - NYC.
