All right, everyone who works freelance (in fact, just about everyone *period*) has a cel phone now. However working freelance we live off of our phones. Just yesterday I was hanging out with a friend who's also independant, and we were talking 'bout how uncomfortable we all are with gambling on the long-term health risks that seem to come hand-in-hand with cel phones.

So, has anyone here got any pointers to research, or opinions, or anything about things that can help distance our delicate grey matter from the danger of a tumor?

For instance, I use a hands-free kit when I can, where I have an earpiece and mic. However, I have no idea if this helps!

Also, something my friend brought up is the question of whether the additional distance from the head of the antanna on flip-phones like the startac make a difference in exposure risk vs. the fixed antanne on my nokia 6160.

Looking forward to some insight,

-Peter

Don't mean to be paranoid, but something tells me wireless companies would find a way to fight (or dispute) ANY study that would point to serious health risks associated with using cell phones. Also, there may not be enough data yet (it's been what - 5-7 years since everybody bought their phone?).

But anyway here's a link to a rather upbeat "FAQ" about cell phones and transmission antennas:

You will be surprised that i am an Chinese and i saw your complaint about the cell phone shortcomings.I would say in Shanghai,(i lived in Shanghai),there are more and more people begin to use CDMA in this metropolis, and the price of it descending heavily, the ads tell us that it is helpful to your health. But i do not think so.Harmful things are everywhere around us,which you can not escape. The most important thing is eat right, sleep enough and exercises as mush as possible. It is an old Chinese saying that:Do not worrying about troubles of your own imagining.
